As a healthcare assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily activities, ensuring comfort and wellbeing.
Our homes based in Crewe are well established homes providing high-quality care to all residents.
You will work in a team at the Crewe homes supporting both staff and residents in residential or nursing home settings.
The Support Worker will be:
Assisting with daily living activities (e.g., dressing, washing, and grooming) when required.
Supporting with mobility needs, including the use of aids or hoists if necessary.
Administering or assisting with medication (if trained and authorised).
Helping with meal preparation and ensuring dietary needs or preferences are met.
Encouraging and assisting individuals to develop independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.
Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
Providing emotional support and companionship.
Supporting individuals in managing challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies.
Assisting with communication needs, which may include using alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
Promoting emotional well-being and mental health through encouragement and active listening.
Always ensuring the safety and dignity of the individuals.
Following safeguarding protocols and reporting any concerns where required.
The ideal candidate for the Support Worker will have:
Previous experience in Health Care role within a home setting or within domiciliary care.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
Completion of the Care Certificate is desirable
A compassionate, patient and caring nature.
Ability and flexibility and comfortable working in fast changing environment.
Being dependable and committed to patient care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A willingness to undergo relevant training and development.
Enhanced Adults and Childrens DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
No Sponsorship.
A full UK Driver’s Licence is desirable.
