As a healthcare assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily activities, ensuring comfort and wellbeing. Our homes based in Crewe are well established homes providing high-quality care to all residents. You will work in a team at the Crewe homes supporting both staff and residents in residential or nursing home settings. The Support Worker will be: Assisting with daily living activities (e.g., dressing, washing, and grooming) when required. Supporting with mobility needs, including the use of aids or hoists if necessary. Administering or assisting with medication (if trained and authorised). Helping with meal preparation and ensuring dietary needs or preferences are met. Encouraging and assisting individuals to develop independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and money management. Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities. Providing emotional support and companionship. Supporting individuals in managing challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies. Assisting with communication needs, which may include using alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS). Promoting emotional well-being and mental health through encouragement and active listening. Always ensuring the safety and dignity of the individuals. Following safeguarding protocols and reporting any concerns where required. The ideal candidate for the Support Worker will have: Previous experience in Health Care role within a home setting or within domiciliary care. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable. Completion of the Care Certificate is desirable A compassionate, patient and caring nature. Ability and flexibility and comfortable working in fast changing environment. Being dependable and committed to patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A willingness to undergo relevant training and development. Enhanced Adults and Childrens DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Right to Work in the United Kingdom. No Sponsorship. Registered Manager Sutton Coldfield, B73 Monday – Friday - Full time - 9am – 5pm £55k + £3k welcome bonus, plus annual performance bonus My client is a well-known, national Children’s Residential Care Company. Well known and renowned in the sector. Offering a range of services which include modern residential care for children, young people and adults and operate a significant range of supported living schemes that include individual flats, houses and grouped accommodation arrangements. My client believes that no child should be disadvantaged and that all children should be part of a community. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Manager to join the Children’s Home in Sutton Coldfield, which has been rated as GOOD with Ofsted and works extremely well with external agencies including local authorities. In return for hard work and commitment you can expect, in addition to competitive pay and conditions and a range of benefits, to have a high-quality induction and ongoing training and development. As the Registered Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the running of the Children’s Home in Sutton Coldfield, with the support of the Operations Manager. The Registered Manager will be: Develop comprehensive care plans, ensuring each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs. Develop a great team, working closely with the recruitment team, bringing in the right people for the home. Working closely with the Operations Manager and the homes’ Management team, ensuring the highest level of care for the young people. Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive. Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan. Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with the quality standards and the Sutton Coldfield Home’s Statement of Purpose. Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns. Working closely with external agencies, parents, and carers to promote the welfare of the young people. Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as appropriate. Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard. The ideal candidate for the Registered Manager will have: Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care. At least 2 years’ experience relating to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the 5 years. Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care essential Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare preferred, if not then Level 5 must be enrolled within the first 6 months of starting the post. Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements. Efficiency in planning, organising, budget control, resource allocation and team leadership. Confidence in effective verbal and written communication. Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour. Full UK Manual Driver’s Licence.
