Sue Deaville

Sue Deaville

Director

My story started over 10 years ago as a trainee recruitment consultant, I then went onto progress to a senior consultant, I was then given the opportunity to open a new start up branch which I grasped with both hands. Having managed 2 successful branches I decided to take the next step of my journey and along with Sam SaferHandCare was born.

We strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment where everyone is welcome and look to provide the best service possible to all.

Director

I began my road to recruitment as a sales advisor where I naturally progressed from an outbound sale advisor to a field sales executive, due to unforeseen circumstances within my family I changed career and began my journey within the care sector as a support worker. This then lead me into my first recruitment role combining both my sales and care experience together. I then found my calling and established myself which led me to having my first branch manager role. Since then a lot has changed and along with Sue we decided to open our first branch SaferHandCare.

Finance Manager

After 18 years working as a practice accountant, in March 2023 I decided on a career change and joined the Safer Hand Care team as Finance Manager. The team have been really welcoming and I am excited to be involved with various aspects of the business as it continues to grow. Outside of work I spend a lot of time walking my working cocker spaniel, Wilf, and socialising with friends, often at Stoke where I have been a season ticket holder for many years. Along with sport and fitness, I enjoy music and try to get out to watch gigs when I can.

We strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment where everyone is welcome and look to provide the best service possible to all.

Area Manager

I have over 10 years experience working within the health and social care sector, initially beginning my career as a pediatric healthcare assistant working with children who had complex care needs. After graduating from University, I undertook a care coordinator role for a complex care agency, I then progressed to the deputy manager and then the Branch Manager. I have gained a vast amount of experience supporting and coordinating packages of care for both children and adults with complex care needs. I have recently completed a Level 5 diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services. I enjoy helping others, making a positive impact and have found all of my roles within the healthcare sector rewarding. I love Tom Hanks, Fall Out Boy, Bao Buns and noodles. I enjoy reading, going to the theater and spending time with my family and pets. I am an amateur baker and have aspirations one day to hopefully be good enough to go on the Great British Bake off.

Vicky Wray

Health & Social Care Trainer

Hi I’m Vicky and have been working in the health and social care industry for 30 years. During this time I have gained my qualifications in Social Work, Teaching and Information and Guidance. I joined SaferHandCare as the Branch Trainer in March 2025 and have previously worked at the Royal British Legion as a Practice Development Facilitator developing and delivering mandatory and additional clinical skills training and with City and Guilds as an Internal Verifier. I have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the Health and Social Care Sector which enables me to educate and support both experienced and non-experienced staff in a range of settings. In my spare time I have swapped my human support role to doggy fostering but unfortunately I have a tendency to adopt all my foster dogs and I am now not allowed to foster any more at present. I also volunteer at a charity shop on a Saturday, sorting out donations as I love a good rummage in a mystery box because you never know what treasure you may find!
